Sandra's Story
Life
I am single, have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. I lived in Orange, California until I was 15. My family then moved to Olympia, Washington (big mistake!!!) I lived there until December 2014 when I moved to West Virginia to live near my daughter and her family. She and her family moved there when she got out of the Army. I lived there for 2 years but now I live in Irvington, KY, because my daughter, son-in-law and three of their children now live in Irvington. My son-in-law got an executive position with a large company there in September 2015. (Their oldest child is a student at Kansas State University.) My son Tim also moved to Kentucky. I now live only 4½ miles from Marcella and her family, which works out fantastically!
I was an executive secretary for many years. I am now retired. My daughter was in the Army for 3 years and got out in December 2012. She and her husband and four children now live in Kentucky. One of my sons also lives in Kentucky. The other son lives in Lacey, Washington...Expand for more

School
I went to Palmyra Elementary School in Orange, California, for part of 1st grade. Then we moved and I attended Killifer Elementary School the rest of 1st grade and all of 2nd grade. We then moved again; I went to Sycamore Elementary School from 3rd through 6th grades, and Portola Junior High for 7th and 8th grades. Then we moved from Orange to Camarillo, California. I went to Camarillo High School for 9th and part of 10th. Then we moved to Olympia, Washington (worst move ever!). I finished high school at Olympia High. I always loved school until we moved to Olympia. Olympia High was a horrible school--undisciplined, way too liberal, etc.
UPDATE: My 19-year-old granddaughter Mercedes joined the Air Force in May 2021. She graduated from basic training with honors and is now in Southern California studying a foreign language for her assignment with Air Force linguistics. I'm so proud of her!!!
UPDATE: Mercedes finished her training in Florida and is now (as of June 2023) stationed in Maryland.
